Jonestown United Magazine (Round 11) Gold Coast Tigers 0 - Jonestown United 1
Dear Jonestown fans
After gaining a valuable point away to Caron last match the Jonestown United team was certain to come away with all the points when they travelled to Gold Coast. After gaining the lead in the 2nd minute of play through a well struck shot from P.Hayes, the team was reduced to 9 players by the end of the match. The team's lead looked vulnerable as Gold Coast tried in vain to secure the draw.
"That was a close match especially the last 12 minutes where we were down to 9 men. It was unbearable to watch as the team tried to hang on for the win. They eventually succeded in the end but it was definitely a hard slog." FarmBoy (Jonestown manager)
"It was a great effort by the boys especially the last couple of minutes in the game. I was also proud of my first game in Jonestown colour. It is a great opportunity for me to resurrect my career here at Jonestown who have given me the opportunity to play in the first team." I.Ashbee (Jonestown defender)
Jonestown will now face The Stormers at home in front of a near capacity crowd in their next match minus 2 key midfielders P.Gain and A.Calcia. "We have great depth in our midfield which will cover the holes left by these players as they serve their one-match mandatory suspension following their sending off. W.Graves returns after a one match rest and the remaining spot will be up for grabs during the training session." FarmBoy (Jonestown manager)

Jonestown United Magazine (Round 12) Jonestown United 2 - The Stormers 0
Dear Jonestown Fans
The team returned to Kacy Park after 2 rounds away from home and the fans turned out to what was expected was a close match. The game was even in terms of possession but the scoreline told a difference story. The main statistic worth mentioning for the home team was the shots on target 6 from 6. The Jonestown midfielders covered the spots left by the 2 suspended players Gain and Calcia who will return in the coming match.
"I thought we played really well and we have finally scored more than 1 goal in the match. Our combinations are coming through in all aspects on the field and our strikers are coming good in the right end of the season. Hopefully we can back up the last couple of matches and not loose any points the next couple of games." FarmBoy (Jonestown manager)
"It is a good sign that Jonestown have the depth in midfields to cover for the 2 suspended players. Beagrie, Garvo and Kilford played well and i was sure they could do the job. Beagrie played tremendously for us in his first game of the season." P.Harsley (Jonestown midfielder)
The team will travel to Smurf City who are also battling for a play-off spot in the division. A win against the Bombers may see Jonestown having a 4 point buffer if Stondon lose against Vizhune. FarmBoy is boosted by the return of Gain and Calcia from suspension for the coming match. "It will be a hard decision who will start in the midfields after Beagrie's performance in the last match. I am giving the team a day's rest before the match before we fly off in the afternoon." FarmBoy (Jonestown manager)

Jonestown United Magazine (Round 13) Smurf City Bombers 1 - Jonestown United 0
Dear Jonestown fans
The trip away to Smurf City was always going to be a hard call. The boys showed that they can match it with the big guns although it didn't reflect on the scoreboard losing 1 - 0. It was a match Jonestown dominated but a single goal from G. Blundell proved the killer blow. The matter was not helped by the sending off of A.Calcia for the second straight match since coming back from his 1-week suspension.
"It was a match we could have won or at least get a point. Both teams played well and deserved a point each. But the goal came and we couldn't equalise in the second half. It's a disappointing performance on Calcia's behalf. We needed a full squad if we were to get a point today but he got sent off. I've had a private word to him but i'm not going to discuss it here." FarmBoy (Jonestown manager)
"We should have equalised during the numerous chances we had on goal in the second half but we failed." S.Bryant (Jonestown, striker)
The team returns to Jonestown to prepare for a crucial match against Seattle. Any point from the match will help in their quest for that ellusive first play-off birth.

Jonestown United Magazine (Round 14) Jonestown United 2 - Seattle Skyhawks 2
Dear Jonestown Fans
A near capactiy crowd have experienced a game with full of excitement as reflected in the 2 -2 draw. Both team knows a win will help them to secure a play-off birth. However the draw against Seattle had it consequences. P.Harlsey has been badly injured and will get it checked out tomorrow morning the prognosis is not good at this stage. S.Bryant capped off a magnificant game by getting the Man of the Match Award.
"It was a great game and an excellent spectacle for the fans who turned up. The goals that was scored was absolutely brilliant. The downside of the game has been the injury sustained by P.Harsley. I have spoken to him after the game and he is in pain and it will look like we will miss his service for the season." FarmBoy (Jonestown manager)
"Well what can i say scoring 2 goals in front of our home fans is superb. It is my first double since i joined the club in the pre-season." S.Bryant (Jonestown striker)
The team now travel to Peanut Valley and it will be the first match both Maiorana and Ashbee will play against their former teamates. It is a must win game for the team and the absence of Harsley is a major blow.

Jonestown United Magazine (Round 15) Peanut Valley Prowlers 3 - Jonestown United 3
Dear Jonestown Fans
Jonestown United travelled to Peanut Valley the former team of Ashbee and Maiorana who were going to play their first match against them. The game was a goal feast for the fans with 3 goals scored in 5 minutes during the 70th minute. However Jonestown squad was depleted when Stanton and Maiorana were injured during the 12th and 25th minute respectively. Both suffered season ending injury and will only play if Jonestown makes the play-offs. This along with the injury of Harsley against Seattle will not help Jonestown's cause in their attempt to make the play-offs.
"It was a great match but my main concern has been the growing injury toll on the team. We got 2 of our first-team defenders out for the season. Stanton has been our top performer in defense through out the season along with Gill. Maiorana has been playing superbly since joining us from Prowlers. We just have to regroup and train much harder the coming days and prepare for our next match. Special mention to Bryant, Beagrie and Graves who played a wonderful game to ensure we got the point." FarmBoy (Jonestown United Manager)
"It was disappointing to see Maiorana and Stanton being taken off the pitch with season ending injury. Hope the other players can lift in their absence." W.Graves (Jonestown midfield)
We interviewed S.Bryant Jonestown's striker who has scored 4 goals in 2 matches and ask him on his form leading up to the end of the season "It is good scoring 4 goals in 2 matches hopefully i can continue to score goals and help Jonestown challenge for the play-offs spot. Our remaining matches against Cherry City, Vizhune and Stondon is all must win matches." S.Bryant (Jonestown Striker)
Jonestown will now face Cherry City at home in their next match without 3 of their first choice players. Manager Farmboy will have to lift his players if they are to win the next 3 matches. "If we can play consistently during the last 3 matches we can probably just sneak into the last remaining play-off spot in the division. We cannot afford to get any of our players injured or suspended if we are to succeed." FarmBoy (Jonestown manager)

Jonestown United Magazine (Round 16) Jonestown United 1 - Cherry City Devils 1
Dear Jonestown fans
Jonestown hosts the Cherry City Devils in the round 16 match which ended in a 1 - 1 dead lock after 90 minutes. The game is crucial for Jonestown to gain a point to keep in touch with second place Vizhune and gain the last play-off spot in the division. The devils with nothing to play for except pride was a difficult challenge for the hometeam. Goals were scarce despite the chances Jonestown had.
"Well i have mixed feelings about the game agains the Devils. I mean i would have like to win the game but a draw should be ok as long as we continue to gain points from every match. Devils proved to be worthy competitors despite coming last in their division. It was a control game in my perspective and well deserved result." FarmBoy (Jonestown, Manager)
"It's my first goal for a long time and i am wrapped about it. Its not often defenders score a goal and the forwards don't. I am goin to savour this moment as long as it last. I've been giving the forwards some help on scoring after the match." chuckling I.Ashbee (Jonestown, defender)
Jonestown now faces Vizhune who had a convincing 4-0 win against Saphire Coast which places them 4 points clear of Jonestown. It is a must win match for the team if they are to challenge for the final play-off spot. "Its going to be a tough match and both team will go into the match determined to win especially us. If we don't win the match our season is over and we don't want that to happen." FarmBoy (Jonestown Manager)

Jonestown United Magazine (Round 17) Vizhune Vipers 0 - Jonestown United 0
Dear Jonestown fans
The season is over for the team after their nil-all draw with Vizhune. The draw secured Vizhune the last play-off spot in the division. Jonestown must look forward to the coming season to challenge Smurf City and Vizhune. The team in the dressing room was very sombre after a promising season of improvements.
"Well our season is over but the quest for our first play-off spot continues. It was a brave effort and congratulation to Vizhune's manager Vatt3 for progressing to the play-offs. The boys knew we had a wonderful season but it would have been extra special if we made the play-offs. We still got one more match and hopefully we end on a high note." FarmBoy (Jonestown Manager)
"Close but not close enough. Both team played a great game today but it wasn't the result we wanted. We knew coming into the match that a win was a necessity which placed us under slight pressure. My career is soon coming to an end and i would like to make a play-off appearance with Jonestown. Maybe next season." W.Graves (Jonestown midfielder)
"It has been a mixed season and we have just started to gel as a team especially with the new recruits over the off-season and during the season. I know better things will come for the team. Our cause wasn't helped by the injuries but we put up a great fight and i am proud of playing for this team." S.Bryant (Jonestown Striker)
The top two in Omega Division B has been finalised leaving Jonestown 4 points behind Vizhune with one match left. Jonestown will travel to Stondon for the dead rubber match against the Bears who also had a wonderful season. "I'm sure the boys will play their hearts out for the fans who have supported us throughout the season." FarmBoy (Jonestown Manager)

Jonestown United Magazine (Roung 18) Stondon Bears 0 - Jonestown United 4
Dear Jonestown fans
After the confirmation of Vizhunes progression to the play-off spot Jonestown travelled to Stondon to play for pride. The players knew they must finish the season off strongly and give the fans something to cheer about. The 4 - 0 win was the icing on a cake after a season which strengthened Jonestown's push for a play-off spot. The team finished the season of with a 5-8-5 (23 points) record giving them 3rd position on the ladder 6 points clear of 4th place Stondon.
"It is good that we didn't lose a match in our final 3 matches. Although i am still devastated by not making the play-offs i am happy how the season went. I'm sure the players will learn from this season and i'm sure we will be better for it. Great performance today and i'm happy for the team for they have showed the true quality of this side." FarmBoy (Jonestown Manager)
"It was good to win our last match of the season and it will help us build up in the season to come. Overall the team played well and knew that nothing was at stake besides pride" B.Garvo (Jonestown midfielder)
"It has been wonderful experience being part of this team. I thank them for welcoming myself and all those who joined the team throughout the season. I look forward to another season to improve personally and the team." I.Ashbee (Jonestown defender)
The team will now enjoy the early break to the season with a team holiday planned in a fortnights time. The location has been kept secret to allow the team and their families to spend quality time which they have missed through the season. Many of the players will travel to the play-off matches and be spectators to what should be a wonderful game. FarmBoy has praised all those who have made his first season as manager of Jonestown a wonderful experience. "I thank everyone the players, staff and fans for making my first season as manager an experience i will never forget. We look forward to the challenges in the coming season and i wish all the team in the play-offs the best of luck" FarmBoy (Jonestown manager)
