I play a lot of Bf mods and latly my ping has risen. It went up 15 after my brother's friend who is good at computers changed something on the router. One night I didn't use the router and was connected directly to the modem, but that didn't change anything. I've come to believe Comcast changed something, but I'm not sure. I'm now scanning for errors, defraging, and will use Norton again. Most of my Norton (auto-protect, script blocking) is off because it won't let ME load. It is up to date though and I have no adaware or spyware. I might as well clean out my Internet Temp files as well. If you could help, please post below vv

Sounds like a problem with the internet provider. Call Comcast and tell them that you speed has dropped dramatically (even if it isn't that bad), that will get them to come out. Sometimes a cable can get corroded, or something else on their end gets messed up.
They should send someone out with a meter that will tell them where the problem is.

Well my latest problem was fixed by defraging, (I couldn't play any mod without lag and 50-90 ping, which got pretty bad, hence I posted this to see if anyone could help.) but the rise from 31 to 46 isn't a big problem, but I wanted to know where it came from and if I could fix it somehow. Only today did it get really bad, since I defraged only a week ago, I didn't think that was it, I guess it was.
P.S. Thanks Jeeper for the help, if it ever goes up again, I'll call because it just isn't worth it presently.
