[glow=red,2,300]MY GRAND CANYON / COLORADO ROCKIES TOUR!!!![/glow]
Hello everyone and after a long break
, welcome to the next leg of my tour. This tour combines two beautiful locations: The Grand Canyon in Arizona and the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
PART ONE: THE GRAND CANYONAircraft used: NAMC YS-11A in "Piedmont Airlines" livery.
Location: Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, USA.
Tour Highlights: If you don't know the tour highlights then you must have issues.......
Time: Dawn
Weather: Sim Theme "Fair Skies"
Here we go....
I took off out of Grand Canyon airport which is located right next to the canyon itself...(duh)
It looked really nice to be taking off and turning right over the canyon!
Here are some cockpit shots. This aircraft was built in the 50's and it has a very unique cockpit.
Taking off:
The Grand Canyon is absolutly brilliant in Flightsim so I'll let these shots speak for themselves!
Anybody that has seen the Star Wars movies will know how I feel in the next shot!
While I was down there, I found a very neat little campsite.
One of Microsofts many hidden surprises!
The Grand Canyon is hundreds of miles long so I had no way of getting it all. The pictures that you are seeing are only a small part of it.
Notice the ground in the distance, you can see where the canyon runs.
The next shots are some of my favorites!!
I then ended my tour of the Canyon by exiting straight up through the top and returning to the airport!
It was a great flight. As you'll notice I am not doing much of a narrative for this tour becuase I think the pictures can speak for themselves.
PART TWO: THE COLORADO ROCKIESAircraft: Bell 206 Jetranger III
Location: Aspen, Colorado
Time: Midday
Weather: "Fair Skies"
This little part of the trip was interesting as well. I took off out of Aspen in a custom painted blue and white chopper and immediatly found myself almost at 9,000 feet!
Town of Aspen, Colorado:
The numerous mountains and valleys were quite beautiful! And my full color GPS looked quite interesting with all of the red and orange displayed! I'll let these pictures speak for themselves.
Imagine driving on this cliff-side road!
That's pretty much it for this leg of the tour! Thanks for looking!
I have no idea where I will go for the next leg of my tour
so
suggestions are welcome!!! (Any questions or comments? Post them!)

Jeeper,
Microsoft has released a patch for FS2004! More info can be found at the Microsoft site as well as flightsim.com.
Also, I have found a really neat radar guage that DOES NOT need FSUIPC (a payware program) to work!!!! It is included with a new Chinook that you can pick up at
www.hovercontrol.com!
After some panel editing, I was able to install the radar as a pop up window in my beloved YS-11. It is really helpful for avoiding traffic!
The YS-11 can be picked up at Avsim.com.
It is version 2.5.
