St. Louis= Partly cloudy for most of the flight but then it started to dissipate quickly.
Key features in this leg:
-Alburquerque and surrounding area.
-Stockton flightsim anomoly.
-City of St. Louis and surrounding area.
PART ONE: Alburquerque, New Mexico
I took off out of Alburquerque Intl. Airport and did a few circles around that region. I found parts that resembled salt flats as well as a nice little mountain range a short distance next to the airport. The actual layout of the airport is really nice and has a clear division between airliners and general aviation on the field.
The main airline that serves AB Intl. is America West Airlines. The airline has hubs in Las Vegas, Pheonix, Dallas, and in random places in California. There is also a small chance of seeing them on the east coast.
PART TWO: Stockton, Missouri
This region is unique to Microsoft Flight Sim 2004. It is the result of a bug in the global landclass mapping and has caused a huge canyon that isn't there in real life. It is very fun to fly thru though! (some say that Microsoft did this on purpose for a little fun. After all, how could the beta testers miss this! You can see it at 60,000 feet!
I took off out of the Stockton Municipal airport and immediatly saw the mountain-like formations indicating where this canyon is. When I entered, I decended to -10,000ft and flew a pattern once in there and then entered the Stockton Crevice. It is a very small canyon opening that you can fly through and is very famous as a test of skill in the flightsim community!
Approaching the area:
Here it is!
Here is the famous Stockton Crevice. It is very difficult to fly through and I crashed at the end of this because I was too slow to pull up out of it.
Here is the area at 55,000ft!!
And the beautiful lines of the F-14:
PART THREE: St. Louis, Missouri
The city of St. Louis is beautiful in real life and on flightsim so I had to do this area! I have only flown here once before out of St. Louis Intl/ Lambert Feild, so I decided to go to a different airfeild called "Spirit of St. Louis Airfield". Because of that, it took me about ten minutes to get to the actual city becuase the stupid airport is so far away!
The actual city itself looks really nice in flightsim and has some interesting structures. Being not good at naming sports feilds, I saw a very nice one in the city but I don't know what it's called. Any help would be appreciated!
With the Flightsim 9.1 patch, they added custom bridges to many regions and I got a very nice waterfront shot of the city with a sign that says St. Louis in the foreground. Unfortunatly, I was flying too low after that and I hit a telephone pole! That was the end of the city tour!
Here are the pictures:
That airport was far away from the city, so here I am very releived that it started to come into view!
Here are the city shots: You will see the arch, a sports field, their capital building, and many more!
Here is what happens when you fly too low!
That is the end of this leg of the tour!
I hope you enjoyed it!
Here is a list of the next legs I will go on until the end in order:
Leg: Chicago and Miami
Leg: Atlanta and Norfolk
Leg: Boston and Portland
Final Leg: New York City
There is the schedule! I already know both of the aircraft that I will use for the New York leg.
And I promised Yoshi that I will use a MiG 29 as one of the aircraft on the next leg.
For the other aircraft on the different legs, unless I find some that I absolutely need to try, I will post more voting schemes so you guys can pick the aircraft!
You will see a vote up for the second aircraft for the upcoming leg come up either later tonight or sometime on the week-end so stay tuned!
