ATLANTA-NORFOLK TOUR!! ONLINE!!!!!!! This route was another fun and interesting one because Jeeper and I flew half of it together. We took off at the Atlanta Int. Airport, flew over the city once, then went on our way to Norfolk, Virginia. For the first quarter of it, we used DC-3's with me using the default blue and white and Jeeper using an American airlines scheme. Then, at almost the halfway point we switched over to Learjets to finish it. Stupid me misjudged the time and distance to Norfolk.... Anyway, at about the halfway point in the flight, Jeeper's sim crashed so I had to finish the flight alone. Arriving into Norfolk, I got a great view of the Cheseapeake Bay Bridge, and a really smooth landing! (I just gave direct links because my resizing software was acting up so some of them are resized and some aren't.) Here are the shots: img131.exs.cx/img131/3701/DC-31.jpgimg131.exs.cx/img131/4038/DC-32.jpgimg131.exs.cx/img131/7832/DC-33.jpgimg131.exs.cx/img131/4586/DC-34.jpgimg109.exs.cx/img109/6881/DC-35.jpgimg131.exs.cx/img131/3306/Lear1.jpgimg131.exs.cx/img131/5696/Lear2.jpgimg131.exs.cx/img131/8321/Lear3.jpgimg131.exs.cx/img131/9583/Lear4.jpgimg131.exs.cx/img131/2448/Lear5.jpgThe next leg of my tour (Portland- Boston) will be in a few weeks. I will not be able to do it next week(end) because I am upgrading my computer. I will post a poll on what aircraft you guys want a few days from now. P.S. Jeeper and I used teamspeak, it was much easier and more fun than typing! See you then!

I can't see your last set of pictures Sean, even after I've tried my normal trick... Actually, those are my pics you cannot see. The company I am hosting with is doing some upgrading, so it's gonna be down for a short while.

I was half asleep at the time... didn't pay much attention to the left bar...
Thought it would be a bit odd though if Sean's images had Jeeper in the title though...

I asked him in a PM earlier... He was seeing how long it would take for people to notice... Wonder if Ann knows?

Sorry I neglected this tour for so long. Been busy with other things. (Like real world flying). Anyway, you can expect the final leg of my USA Tour to appear sometime before the 3rd of January! (maybe today if I have time). The final leg will feature New York City. Then, you can expect the combat stuff to appear in a new thread in the coming weeks!

[glow=red,2,300]THE FINAL LEG: NEW YORK CITY!!![/glow] It is finally time for a long tour to come to a close! This tour features New York City and some of the surrounding area. This was a really fun leg because I got to try out my new Corsair, which performed great!! New York is a candidate city for the 2012 Olympics and is also know to be one of the most recognizable cities in the world! It is home to hundreds of powerful companies and systems. These include the headquarters of the UN, Metlife, and the Chrystler corporation, just to name a few. The airplane I used was the Vought-Sikorsky F4U-7 "Corsair" of VF-17 "Jolly Rogers". (You may notice the pirate flag on the nose.) I used generic "clear" weather so my computer did not slow down too much because of this detailed area. In my flightsim world, I have a vintage traffic set that includes old propliners and their airlines all over the world. I recently added vintage jetliner traffic to go with it that features jetliners like the Boeing 707 and the de Havilland Comet. One of my pictures features a Braniff Airlines Lockheed L0149 Contellation to show you just one of the hundreds of planes and airlines you can see with my set. The years my traffic set covers are the late 1940's to the 1970's or early 1980's. NOW FOR THE PICTURES! My Corsair: Corsair in flight: Here is one of the planes I saw while taxiing out to take off! Leaving John F. Kennedy International Airport: On my way to the city I passed by New York's smaller airport, La Guardia (named after one of the past mayors of the city): Then as I got closer, I saw many bridges in the area! Here are pictures of them: Here I am approaching one end of NYC: Here is the famous Statue of Liberty! It is over 200 years old and was built in France then shipped over on a freighter to the island. Here are a collection of pictures of some of the skyscrapers and other buildings in New York City! Chrystler Building: UN Headquarters (the two blueish colored buildings in the foreground): More skyscrapers! Empire State Building (was once the tallest building in the world!) I'm not sure what these next two buildings are but I am sure Smurfer can help me! (the white building in first pic and the pointy topped building in second pic.) Here is Central Park and what I believe is the mayor's house. Here are the numerous docks on the island! Here is the Metlife Building with the Empire State building in the backround! More skyscrapers! Here are two overview shots of the New York City area: THANK YOU FOR COMING ALONG WITH ME ON MY USA TOUR!! It's been fun doing this tour and I wish to thank everyone that took the time to leave comments about featured legs and also to vote on different things! I would also like to thank all of the freeware developers of aircraft for flightsim because without them, I'm sure it would get boring to have to deal with the same aircraft over and over and they also enrich our hobby so much by giving so much and asking for nothing in return. Thanks Microsoft for expressing the beauty of these areas virtually and allowing us to have fun with it on the way with your Flight Simulator products! The detail in some areas is astounding! And finally, thank you Imageshack for allowing FREE hosting of my various pictures for all to enjoy! If anyone has any questions or comments about my tour, aviation, or flight simulators, please post!! Look out in the coming weeks for the start of my combat stories! THANK YOU!! Your aviator, -SeanTK

The first building is the American Express building, and the second is the Woolworth Building, which was the first highrise building to steal the title of "world's tallest" building from the city of Chicago, the birthplace of the highrise.
Great job on the flight. If you're ever looking for a job, Airwave Air is always looking for good pilots, and being CEO, I'd put in a good word for ya.

Sean, you knew this was inevitable, here we go: *Love the plane and the pilot, so detailed!!! *That white "triangle" roofed building is the Citigroup building, finished in 1977. *Statue of Liberty was put together in the U.S. in 1886, which is only 119 years ago. *The bridge that is next to the Brooklyn Bridge is the Manhattan Bridge, sadly no one had an imagination when it came to naming it. *The stone one is the Brooklyn Bridge. *The white catalever struture is the Queensboro Bridge. and on a side note, someday I'll find the flat iron building, again, I hope... Great tour Sean, kudos to you. P.S. I checked and did research on some of that^^
